THE FACE OF RESTAURANT GRAND DAME

In February 1983, owner Connie Irons renovated one of the first buildings in Edwards—a historic log cabin gas station from the 1940s through the 1960s—and opened the Gashouse Restaurant. Decorated with hunting trophies on the walls and a bar laminated with ski passes from local notables and Olympians, the dining room exudes classic Colorado charm.

House specialties include steak and seafood entrees (the crab cake recipe is Connie’s grandmother’s!), a wild game menu, and a superb wine list. A family friendly atmosphere paired with fantastic customer service has made the Gashouse Restaurant a culinary landmark in the Vail Valley, where locals and visitors return meal after meal, year after year.
